VISION AND GOAL
“He was in the world, and the world was made by Him and the world knew Him not”. (John 1:10)
The above verse epitomizes three aspects of the universe as a whole and two aspects specifically regarding the sin-ridden earth in its logical order,
1 The universe was made by Jesus Christ, the Son of God. This is the supreme truth about the universe and of which scientists of today are longing and trying to quench their deepest thirst, but failed by stooping down to drink the water from the broken and dirty cisterns of their own make. It says that the origin of this world is creation, not evolution and there is good purpose in creating the universe and not just a blind chance.
2 “He was in the world', that is the supreme truth in the history of mankind. This confers upon our race, the highest of all honour. Thus the history of human race is divided into two B. C. and A. D.
3 “And the world knew Him not”. This is the supreme tragedy of human depravity, for it was this which led to the shameful repudiation and humiliation and crucifixion of the incarnate King, Jesus Christ.
Jesus said “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Although the gospel of the great King was preached in India since the beginning of the first century the Satan “blinded the eyes of majority of the people of India lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ who is the image of God, should shine unto them”.
We know that fifty percent of India's population consists of young people under twenty-five years of age that is, ten percent of the world's population. Although there are many organizations working among the youths, they are not presenting the gospel in its full measure because of certain hidden agendas in relation to the churches to whom they are associated. So it became the necessity of the hour to present the full gospel to all the youth of the whole world without reservation and evasion, in accordance with the sixty-six books of the Bible. With this end in view a band of servants of God conducted a camp under the caption (Youth Christian Camp) from May 5-7, in 1973 at Charal Mount in the Pathanamthitta District of Kerala. The same camp was being conducted continuously up to 1980. Thus the last camp held in 1980 paved the way for the inception of ICPF and has been ministering among the youths since then.
The vision and the goal of ICPF is enclosed in the ICPF Anthem. (see the side bar)
Besides ICPF, the then executive committee decided to start a fellowship of full gospel Christian graduates and unanimously agreed to name it “Christian Graduates Prayer Fellowship” (CGPF). (Graduates means only ‘born again'.)
As you know ICPF is a fast growing ministry among the youths and we are badly in need of spirit filled workers, finances and equipments. In this situation we felt we must create awareness among all believers all over the world that if we unite and act with determination all mountains of problems and difficulties will be uprooted and will be lauded in the sea.
Thus the main objectives of CGPF is to support ICPF ministry and to provide ICPF with spirit filled and responsible workers and with equipments like vehicles, sound systems, projector, films etc.
And to provide every kind of help to poor and down trodden students in India.
Now the political and the religious scenario of India is fast changing, so we have to hold on what is true, real and eternal in this changing world.
Entrance into college campuses is becoming very difficult. Hence we need campuses of our own so that the centers are kept alive through out the year by counselling, training and rehabilitating the poor and the needy. May the good Lord bless ICPF richly so that the love of Jesus Christ blossom in us brilliantly with all its fragrance in the years to come if the Lord delays his return..
